After finishing his theology studies in Szombathely in 1897 and his first mass in Tišina, he was chaplain in several parishes and a parish priest in Pečarovci. He retired in 1910 and moved to Črenšovci. Then began his fruitful political work, alongside his work as an editor and writer. He was the opinion leader of the Catholic Slovenes in Prekmurje, and was actively involved in the coup 1918 -1919. He was a Member of Parliament for nine years. He edited and published the first Slovenian newspapers in Prekmurje: Marijin list, Novine and Kalendarij Srca Jezušovoga, he was a priest and he collaborated with different social projects. He died in 1948 in Murska Sobota, where he is buried.
