Kercaszomor reformed belfry

It is located in the territory of the former Szomoróc. The bell is placed on a fork (“ágas”) carved from a single oak log above the tent roof. The walls of the rectangular building were made of beams. The skirted roof not only has a support function but also protects the bell tower. This kind of single-forked belfry is rare in Hungary.

Specialist description

Az egykori Szomoróc területén áll. A harang egyetlen tölgy rönkből kifaragott “ágasban”, nyolcszöglető (fazsindellyel fedett) sisak alatt magasodik az építményt cseréppel fedett sátortető (“szoknya”) fölé. Négy harangoszlopát hevederek kötik össze, ferde kötések erősítik meg. A négyszögletes épület falai boronafákból készültek. A szoknyás tetőzetnek nemcsak támasztó funkciója van, de a harangozót is védi. Magyarországon ritka típus az egyágasos harangláb.
