When waking, the old custom dictated to church songs to be sung in addition to prayer. In 1796, Štefan Sijarto published the first printed edition of the Mrteške pesmi (Mrtvecsne peszmi / Wake songs). The songbook was later copied many times and changed during the transcription. This document was the property of Anton Kerec from Pečarovci, and is an early partial transcript of the songbook.
