In 1906 he moved with his family to Bozsok, into the Sibrik Castle. In 1912 he participated in organizing the Vas County Art History Exhibition in Szombathely, in the Savaria Museum. From 1917 to 1934 he was director general of the Museum of Applied Arts and lived in Budapest. In 1934 he retired to Bozsok in Vas County.
His collection consisted of applied arts, fine arts, natural science objects and a library of 5000 volumes. In 1951 the Bozsok Border Guard was moved to Sibrik Castle. Gyula Végh was requested to move out, which shocked him so much that he committed suicide at the age of 81.
Since 2007, there is a commemorative plaque in the Sibrik Castle, today functioning as a hotel.
