Builder of the Ják Monastery and Church. He was the Bailiff of Zala, was born in Vasvár (1215-1245). Ban of Slavonia (1224). We do not know the dates of his birth and death. When the church was consecrated in the spring of 1256, he was no longer living. Probably it his funeral that is depicted on the walls of the southwestern tower of the church.
The elementary school in Ják was named after him.
His statue, erected in 2004, stands in the courtyard of the former abbey house. Martin holds the mock-up of the temple in his hand, and the base is decorated with mythical creatures (dragons) that also appear on the gates of the church. The sculpture is the work of Dávid Raffay.
