Prehistoric bread idol from Kenyeri

prehistoric bread idol

prehistoric, early/middle bronze age, ReBr A2-C2

Cylindrical clay object, rounded at both ends. On the front, where the decorations are located, it is flattened. It has 4 embossed circular patterns with radial shapes. There is a deeper hole in the middle. There are deeply cut parallel, linear decorations on the sides of 3 of the 4 circles. Its function is controversial in the literature. Some consider it profane (toy, stamp), others see it as a sacred object. The circumstances of the object discovery are unknown. It was published by Mária Károlyi in 1998.

Két végén legömbölyített, hengeres agyag tárgy. Előlapján, ahol a díszítések elhelyezkednek, síkra formált. Rajta 4 benyomott kör alakú minta található, sugaras mintázattal. Közepén egy mélyebb lyuk található. A 4-ből 3 kör oldalán mélyen bevágott párhuzamos vonalas díszítés helyezkedik el. Funkciója vitatott a szakirodalomban. Egyesek profán (játék, pecsétlő), mások szakrális funkciójú tárgynak vélik. A tárgy előkerülési körülményei ismeretlenek. Azt Károlyi Mária publikálta 1998-ban.
