Jug from Bajánsenye

19th century

A bulging jug with one handle and narrow lip, unglazed both outside and inside. Scratched ornament: four wavy lines between seven circling lines. Inscription with year. The jugs were made in large quantities by the jug-makers. Only the individual pieces had a year or an inscription. According to its size and the approximately 10 l volume it is considered to be a “big jug”.

Agyagból korongolt, égetett, kívül és belül mázatlan, egyfülű, hasas, szűk kiöntőrésszel ellátott korsó. A nyak alatt margarétára emlékezetető dísz, benne “BI” monogram. Alatta hét körbefutó vonal közt négy mullámvonal. A 4. és 5. körbefutó vonal közt “1897” bekarcolt évszám. A 2. és 3. körbefutó vonal közt “Gergácz Józsefné” és “BI” felirat. A 2. és a 7. vonal közt ferde, enyhe bordázat, majd a 7. vonal alatt, a korsó talprészéig nagyon enyhe, vízszintesen körbefutó bordázat látható. Oldalán két lyuk ronggyal és kátránnyal foltozva.
