It has been an important crossing point over the Rába River since the 1600s. The duty collected by the county served to maintain the bridge. In 1789 József Kenedics county surveyor was commissioned to design a wooden bridge (drawing: MNL OL T 60 Nr. 95.). It was rebuilt in 1885 and tariffs were reorganized. In 1924 and then on November 12, 1925, the flood swept away the left bank pillar along with half of the bridge. The plan for its reconstruction is shown on the site plan.
