Marika Kardinar-Nagy (Dobrovnik, 1953), nine-pin bowler and the most successful Slovene sportswoman of all time. Over the course of a 30-year sporting career, she won 40 medals at major competitions including 15 medals at world championships (8 golds), 15 medals at club world championships (8 golds), 5 medals at World Cup competitions for national champions (1 gold) and 5 medals at European league competitions (2 golds). The holder of two individual world records and one team world record, she was national champion in Yugoslavia and Slovenia an incredible 30 times. In 1992 she was named Slovene sportswoman of the year.
