According to an old legend, recorded in 1956 by pastor Janez Eljaš, the church of St. Cosmas and Damian was built by the Count of Dobra, who had a blind daughter. After the death of her mother, the girl cried so much that she went blind and was only healed after visiting the miraculous spring in Kuzma. The Count had promised to build a church near the spring, if his daughter was fully healed and he kept his promise. Unfortunately, later the spring was completely dried up due to two brothers who killed each other. The miraculous spring was located next to the willow tree near the church.
